The Women in Action Against Cancer Coalition is planning a garage sale March 23-24 at Harmony United Methodist Church, 2119 Commercial St., Mingo Junction.
Joann Pederson is chairperson of the fundraiser event that will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days. All proceeds will benefit WIAACC.
The group's January and February meetings held at Manfred's included the assigning of committees and chairpersons and an outlining of the year's agenda.
Judy Manfred presided at the meetings where Megan Huggins of the Appalachian Community Cancer Network announced that the billboards with pictures were successful and that Paul Russell was being sought to thank. The coalition is looking for contact information on him.
The treasurer's report indicated that approximately $13,000 has been generated from fundraisers so money is available for testing for eligible women and men. For information on assistance or regarding upcoming events or membership, call (740) 282-5676.
The coalition also recently received a donation of $405 from Oklok-Criss & Associates Agency with a check presentation to Manfred made by Deb Hukill and Valorie Weaver.
The coalition's next meeting will be held Wednesday at noon at Manfred's Restaurant.
