MONTGOMERY, Karen D., 67, of Steubenville, Ohio, passed away Monday, April 9, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born June 1, 1944, in Steubenville, Ohio, a daughter of the late William and Helen (Poole) Alvey.
Karen was an active member of Finley United Methodist Church where she held numerous positions that mostly pertained to children's ministries, youth ministries and United Methodist Women.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, William Montgomery, whom she married April 1, 1961; two daughters, Ginger (Ron) Thomas of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Leslie Montgomery of Steubenville, Ohio; four grandchildren, Ashley, Zac, Megan and Andrea; sister, Claralynn (Billy Jo) Moran of Woodsfield, Ohio; one brother, William (Linda) Alvey of Madison, Ohio; and many other close family members and friends.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday at Finley United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jerry Ernst officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to Valley Hospice.
