PETTY, Gloria Jean (Leasure), 69, of Toronto, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2012, at the Valley Hospice Care Center, Steubenville.
Born June 3, 1942, in Toronto, she is the daughter of the late Levi H. and Lona Mae (Channels) Leasure.
Gloria is a 1960 graduate of Toronto High School, and is retired as a hairdresser and cosmetologist from Appearances Salon in Toronto. She is a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Wellsville, where she was the church piano player.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene C. Petty, whom she married March 19, 1982 and who passed away in 2005; a sister, Thelma Leasure; a brother, Frank Leasure; a sister-in-law, Betty Leasure; and two infant brothers.
Gloria's survivors include a son, Eric E. Petty of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Miss Toby K. Petty of New Cumberland, W.Va.; a brother, Paul Leasure of Salem, Ohio; Mae's faithful cat, Monday; and numerous adopted children.
Family and friends will gather for visitation on Sunday, April 22, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St. Toronto, Ohio 43964 (740) 537-1234 or (855) 847-1240.
A private celebration service of Gloria's life will be held at a later time, and burial will take place at Spring Hill Cemetery in Wellsville.
