GARRETSON, Dorothy Elizabeth (Karas), 88, of Wellsburg, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 31, 2012, at the Valley Haven Geriatric Center, Wellsburg, WV.
She was born on April 19, 1924, to the late James and Hazel (Alexander) Karas.
Dorothy was a member of the Wellsburg Church of the Nazarene, Wellsburg where she was a Sunday School Teacher for 15 years and more recently attended the First Church of God, Wellsburg. She had numerous occupations as a homemaker, but most of all Dorothy was the most wonderful mother in the world with love that was never ending.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil R. Garretson, a daughter, Patty Witherow, a son, Donald Garretson, son-in-law, Howard Richmond, and three sisters, Mary Lantermen, Margarita Weekley and Anna Jack.
Dorothy is survived by six loving daughters, Karen (Craig) Boyce and Hazel (Pat) Morgan, all of Wellsburg, WV, Debbie (Bill) Billingsley of Follansbee, WV, Linda (Ed) Clark, Tammy Vennitti, Joan (Roger) Patrick, all of Newton Falls, OH, two devoted sons, Kenneth (Brenda) Garretson and Roger (Roxanne) Garretson, all of Wellsburg, WV, 23 cherished grandchildren, 37 beloved great grandchildren, three blessed great- great-grandchildren, a treasured sister, Georgia Salka, of Newton Falls, OH, a caring son-in-law, Jack Witherow of Lordstown, OH and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, June 3, 2012 from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. and again Monday, June 4, 2012 from 10 until time of Funeral Service at 11 a.m. at the Chambers Funeral Home, 1030 Main Street, Wellsburg, WV, with the Pastor James Seabright and Pastor Dennis K. Yingling, officiating.
Interment will following at Kadesh Chapel Cemetery, Beech Bottom, WV.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dorothy's name to the Valley Haven Geriatric Center, Activities Fund, RD 2 Box 44, Wellsburg, WV 26070.
