Indian Creek offering special programs

WINTERSVILLE - The Indian Creek Local School District will offer before- and after-school programs for pupils in grades kindergarten through fifth grade for the 2012-13 school year.

Activities will be provided in each of the district's three elementary schools. The activities are age and grade-level appropriate and can assist children with homework, study skills, self-improvement opportunities and computer education, according to administrators.

Certified teachers and aides will direct the before- and after-school programs on a daily basis for the school year beginning Aug. 21 at the following schools:

Before-school activities

Hills Elementary - 7:20 a.m. to 7:50 a.m.

Wayne Elementary - 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Wintersville Elementary - 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

After-school activities

Hills Elementary - 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Wayne Elementary - 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Wintersville Elementary - 3:45 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

Snacks that meet U.S. Department of Agriculture after-school nutrition guidelines will be served daily. Costs to defray supply needs for the after-school programs are $4 for full-pay pupils; $3, reduced pay; and $2, free. Costs for before-school snacks are $2 for all pupils.

Transportation must be provided by parents.
