Bears football scrimmage moved
NEW MANCHESTER - The Aug. 11 football scrimmage between Oak Glen and Brooke has been moved to 6:30 p.m. at West Liberty University.
Panthers to sponsor bus
RAYLAND - The Buckeye Local School District will sponsor a booster bus to the season opening football game at 7 p.m. on Aug. 24 at Utica High School. The bus will leave the high school at approximately 4 p.m. The school district will operate on a two-hour early dismissal to accomodate players, band members and fans.
Cost is $10 and includes the price of admission. All elementary students must have a chaperone. If needed, the bus will be canceled due to lack of interest.

Big Red to hold golf tryouts
RICHMOND - Students interested in trying out for the Steubenville Big Red golf team should report to Blackmoor Golf Course at 8 a.m. Monday.
Candidates must have an updated physical and insurance before they are permitted to participate. Candidates should bring proper golf equipment and attire and be prepared to practice.

Brooke selling season tickets
WELLSBURG - Brooke football season ticket will be available in the athletic office from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. from Monday through Aug. 15. The cost is $20 per set with seating contracts. Current season ticket holders must pick up their tickets no later than Aug. 15 in order to retain their current seating.
If you do not have a current seating contract, the cost is $75 per seat plus $20 for this season's tickets. Any ticket packets purchased after Aug. 15 will be $5 per game. All tickets purchased after Aug. 17 will be general admission only and $5 per seat.
In addition, parking passes for current pass holders may be picked up on Monday, Wednesday or Aug. 10.
Family seasonal fall sports athletic passes are also available in the athletic office. The pass is $50 and admits an individual family (two adults and children middle school age and younger in the same household) to all regular season home athletic events during the fall sports season except varsity football and WVSSAC or OVAC tournament games.
Brooke High Student Athletic Passes are also available for $30 and admits the student to all home regular season athletic events for the upcoming school year.
Toronto to sell football tickets
TORONTO - Reserved tickets for the Toronto football season will be on sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Aug. 21 at the high school principal's office. They will be on sale at Colonial Garden and Gifts from Aug. 22 through Sept. 7.
Reserved tickets are $8 each. General admission at the gate is $6 and senior citizen tickets at the gate only are $5.

Creek to hold volleyball tryouts
WINTERSVILLE - Indian Creek Junior High will be hold volleyball tryouts from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday at the high school for girls entering grades 7-8.

Boxing returning to Mountaineer
