McDonald’s helping local schools

WHEELING — Every McDonald’s restaurant across the Ohio Valley will be raising funds for local schools during the Arch Support Digital Fundraiser Day, Wednesday.

The fundraiser will take place from open to close, organizers stated. Schools throughout the Tri-State Area will be partnered with a local McDonald’s restaurant. Each school will earn 20 percent of all sales purchased through the McDonald’s app at their partner restaurant. A minimum of $300 is guaranteed to each school.

“The Arch Support fundraiser is our way of giving back to the neighborhoods we serve,” announced McDonald’s owner and operator Bob Stoltz. “We’re hoping local communities will rally around their schools and help make the Arch Support Digital Fundraiser Day a big success.”

Because McDonald’s is allowing partner schools to determine how their funds will be used, the fundraiser will benefit a wide range of educational programs. The McDonald’s app is available for download in the Apple App Store and the Android Google Play Store. With the McDonald’s app, customers get access to exclusive deals, order ahead and pass the line.

Participating schools and their partner restaurants include: Brooke Primary North, 1514 Main St., Follansbee; Weirton Elementary, Three Springs Drive, Weirton; Cross Creek Elementary, 140 Main St., Wintersville; and Steubenville Catholic Central, 2106 Sunset Blvd.
