Library announces activities

STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County will hold the following events and activities at area branches during the week of Oct. 28-Nov. 1.

Main Library (740) 282-9782

Adults: Book Club will meet at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 30 a.m. to discuss “The Kitchen House,” by Kathleen Grissom. Call to join the group discussion.

The Books on Tap Book Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at Hightower Brewing Co. For information, call the library.

Adults: The Jefferson County General Health District will administer flu vaccinations from 11 a.m. to noon on Oct. 31. Attendees should bring their insurance card. The vaccination will be free of charge to those who qualify.

Children: Parents with children ages birth to 2 years old are invited to join in the Babygarten program, scheduled at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 28 at the library. The lap-sit program includes sharing stories, songs and rhymes.

Parents can bring their children to hear spooky tales during Story Time, set for 5:30 p.m. Oct. 28. Register to attend.

Pick up a grab-and-go Story Time or craft on Nov. 1, while supplies last. Both bags involve a turkey theme that children will gobble up.

Adults: This month, book club will be discussing “An Unwanted Guest,” by Shari Lapena. The group will be meeting at 6 p.m. Oct. 28.

Children: Parents with children ages 2-6 are invited to attend Play and Learn the Alphabet, a program which involves toys that promote early literacy skills. The activity will take place at 11 a.m. Oct. 29.

Adults: Those who enjoy reading books that have suspense, twists and turns, are invited to join the Thriller Book Club. This month, the club is reading “The Woman in the Library,” by Sulari Gentill. A discussion on the book will take place at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 29. Register to attend.
