Library announces upcoming activities

STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County will hold the following events and activities at branches throughout the area during the week of Feb. 24 to March 2.

Those interested in attending any of the activities listed, should contact the branch nearest them and reserve a seat to ensure availability, officials said.

Main Library

Children: This week’s Story Time activity will feature the theme of Black History Month. Story Time will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 24. Register to attend.

Help your children with early literacy skills by attending the Babygarten program at 11 a.m. on Feb. 28. This lap-sit activity includes stories and songs for parents who have children between the ages of birth to 2. Register to attend.

Adults: The Books on Tap Book Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 23 at the Hightower Brewing Co. For information, contact the library about attending the discussion and to pick up a copy of the book.

Book Club will meet at 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 26 to discuss the book “Assaulted Caramel,” by Amanda Flower. Call to join.

Mending Mondays will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 24. Re-craft Steubenville and Strong Towns will have materials, machines and guidance to help participants mend their projects. Stop in anytime during the two-hour timeframe to take part in the event.

Matthew J. Gladman will be at the library at 6 p.m. on Feb. 26 to discuss with sports fans his book, “Heartbreak Highway! A History of the Ohio Boys’ Scholastic State Basketball Tournament: The Golden Age (1956-80), Volume 5.” Call the library to reserve a seat.
