Now that winter has officially ended, the City of New Cumberland is once again recognizing area residents who take extra care of their yards. The monthly Yard of the Month contest has returned, with this month’s winning yard belonging to Bob and Dorothy Swearingen who reside on Smith Street. Mayor Will White, presented the couple with April’s Yard of the Month award, along with a check and sign that will remain in the couple’s yard until the next winner is selected for May. Officials thanked everyone who takes part in this annual, seasonal event which keeps the town looking beautiful.
