FRANK STRAKER, JR.
Frank J. Straker, Jr. peacefully passed away next to his wife Christine Quattrone Straker on Tuesday, November 26th, 2024 at their home in Steubenville after a courageous battle with cancer.
Frank was born on August 1st, 1953 in Steubenville where he grew up with his parents and two siblings. He graduated from Steubenville High School. Frank served his country during the Vietnam War in the US Navy for 4 years, He was also in the union as a flagger for 10 years, and worked at Weirton steel for 27 years. Frank was happily married to his wife Christine Straker who was his partner in life for 47 years at the time of his death.
Frank is survived in addition to his wife by two children Ryan and Emily, 3 grandchildren Kaylee, Breanna and Lylla, mother Joann and two siblings Debbie and Bob. He is preceded in death by his father Frank J. Starker Sr.
Some things Frank liked to do in his free time when he was able was to ride his motorcycle. A fun fact instead of a first car as many people would get when they turned a certain age he had a first motorcycle. He also enjoyed going to the big red football games, along with spending time with his grandchildren and his wife.
Frank’s personality will be mourned deeply by everyone who knew and loved him. His memory will remain in the hearts of his family, friends and all those who were honored to have had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will live on for generations to come inspiring those around him with his kindheartedness, generosity and unforgettable spirit.
