CECILIA PETRAS

She was born in Toronto, OH, and was a 1957 graduate of Toronto High School. Cecilia held a Bachelor’s degree from Ohio University and a Master of Arts degree from Eastern Michigan University. She retired as an elementary school teacher in the Lincoln Park Michigan school system last working as a reading specialist.

She was a member of the American Association of University Women and several other educational organizations. She was a world traveler, having been to many countries and places, including Europe, Asia, the Caribbean and even the South Pole. She was also an avid golfer. She was last a member of Saint. Cyprian Catholic Church in Riverview, MI.

Cecilia was preceded in death by her parents, Carl J. and Mary I. Petras and brother, Carl H. Petras.

Left to cherish her memory are two brothers, Thomas Petras of Toronto and Michael (Linda) Petras of Calcutta, OH, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Friday, April 11 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will follow at 11 AM at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Toronto. Following the Mass, friends and family will gather upstairs in the church hall for fellowship.
