JOSHUA RHOME
Joshua C. Rhome, 49, of Pennsboro, WV, departed this life on Friday, April 11, 2025, at his residence. Josh was born March 14, 1976 in Steubenville, OH, a son of Rita J. Rhome Nicely of Pennsboro, WV. Josh was currently employed at North Bend Golf Course in Harrisville, WV where he worked as the supervisor for grounds maintenance. It was a job that he truly loved. Josh is known for his love of family, nature, and animals. He often brought home wounded or stray animals. He achieved his Master Gardener Certification and worked to leave the Earth better than he found it. He attended Brooke High School and lived his life on his terms.
In addition to his mother, he leaves behind his step-dad, Gayle Steerman; step sisters, Ocie Ewan, Michelle Lamb, and Kelly Pearce; step brothers, John (Rusty) Calhoun and Eddie Steerman, Aunt Donna and Uncle Paul Dodd who were like Josh’s 2nd parents; uncles, Chuck Phillips, Gary Reitter, Paul Reitter (Jenn); aunts, Robin Cattrell (Ron), Judy Hunter, and many cousins and friends. He also leaves behind a wife.
Visitation will take place from 5pm-7pm on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the McCullough Funeral Home in Pennsboro, WV. In accordance with Josh’s wishes he will be cremated. The family is also planning a private memorial that will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations in Josh’s name be made to a local Humane Society or plant a tree in his memory.
