Former Big Red wrestlers victorious in the MMA ring

Four Steubenville fighters stepped into the octagon on Saturday night at the CFSBank Event Center in Belle Vernon, Pa. All Big Red graduates won, giving Steubenville a clean sweep at the Brawl in the Burgh 28 presented by 247 Fighting Championships.

Branko Busick and Niko Petrides won professional bouts with Shawn Livington and Ethan Pappas winning their amateur MMA debuts.

Busick made short work of his opponent, submitting Dale Reed of Delaware in the first round of a 225-pound bout. Petrides won by TKO in the third round over Brett Shoenfelt of Holidaysburg, Pa. during a professional 170-pound match. Livingston defeated Maxwell Snyder of Ravenna in a 170-pound amateur bout. Pappas dominated Jaden Wise of Burnham, Pa, winning a 145-pound amateur matchup by unanimous decision.
